Abstract

This paper studied the refined modeling and simulation method for pendulous integrating gyro accelerometer (PIGA). The structure of the whole instrument was meshed by finite element method (FEM). Bolt connectors were used to simplify the model. Virtual mass method was used to model the floating oil. The parameters of bearing of outer ring axis were calculated, and the stiffness-bearing method was used to model the bearing in FEM model. Using these methods, a refined FEM simulation model was established. The accuracy of the model was tested by a modal test. Based on the FEM simulation model, the relationship between the bearing preload and the center of mass deviation of the floater in overload situation was simulated. And further analysis between the bearing pre-load and accuracy was conducted. The results show that raising the bearing preload helps raise the accuracy of the whole instrument. But if the preload is too high, the accuracy will be decreased. In addition, the apparent acceleration is also releated to the accuracy of PIGA.
