Abstract
The formation mechanism of fragments on warhead was revealed and the expansion and crack of the conical warhead case were simulated by using SPH method. The contrast experiment was carried out based on the simulation, and the fragment velocity characteristics and formation models of conical warhead have been obtained. It is concluded that the conical warhead fragment velocity of the far end is 1.3 times than that of the near end and the axial velocity of the fragments on the head of the conical warhead is higher than those at other measuring points on the case of the same height. Most of the conical warhead fragments are of tensile model with a percentage of 49.3, followed by tensile-shear model with a percentage of 30.4. Only a few are of shear model, the percentage is 20.3.
