Abstract
Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been used from consumer electronics to electric vehicles and energy storage with the energy density improvement since 1990s. The corresponding novel materials and battery systems need to be developed to meet the market requirement. Also, flexible electronic devices become a booming research aspect requires realization the flexibility of LIBs. In this review, we summarized the application of thin film materials in various components of LIBs, which can achieve the flexibility as well as the microminiaturization. In addition, we also emphasized the construction of three-dimensional thin film flexible electrodes.
