Abstract

The influences of the thickness and curvature radius of liner for D-shaped charge structure on projectile formation are studied to further improve the damage effectiveness of directional multiple explosively formed projectile warhead. The results show that the crushing ability of the detonation pressure on the liner decreases with the increase in liner thickness and curvature radius; the maximum explosively formed projectile (EFP) velocity can reach 2 300 m/s when the thickness of the liner is 1.5 mm. The EFP velocity increases linearly and the aspect ratio decreases with the increase in liner thickness. When the curvature radius increases from 20 mm to 40 mm, the liner can't be closed, but the EFP velocity is increased by 200 m/s. The curvature radius has almost no effect on the dispersion angle of EFP. Finally, the structure of liner was optimized and modified, which formed a better EFP.
