Abstract

As important chemical raw materials and intermediates, aliphatic nitriles are widely used in the field of materials and medicine synthesis. In this review, we summarized the research progress in synthetic strategy, including the oxidative cyanation of alkanes, alkenes, aldehydes and amines, direct cyanation of alkanes, haloalkanes and alkenes with cyanogen reagents, and the dehydrative cyanation of amides, carboxylic acids (esters) and aldehyde oximes. Meanwhile, the industrial preparation progress of aliphatic nitriles and the bottleneck problems therein were introduced taking acrylonitrile, adiponitrile and acetonitrile as typical examples. The future development on the synthetic strategy and industrial preparation of aliphatic nitriles was also prospected.
