Abstract

With digital era approaching, the quantity and scale of data centers are increasing rapidly. Data center has become an important demand response resource. To improve the utilization of equipment, the data center can be systematically integrated with photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system (ESS) in the park through flexible distribution equipment to ensure the power supply reliability and operation economy of the data center. A coordination planning method of power supply in data center parks with multiple resources is proposed. First, the multiple equipment is modeled for data center parks. On this basis, a power supply planning model for data center parks is established considering multiple resources. With the objective of minimizing the equipment investment and operation cost in data center parks, the converter capacity of flexible substations, the server number of data centers, and the capacity of ESS and PV are optimally determined. Finally, a case of a data center park is used to verify the economic benefits of the coordination planning of power supply in data center parks with multiple resources. In addition, the impacts of different factors on the planning results of data center parks are analyzed.
