Abstract
To solve the problems appeared in the traditional fixed valve train system resulted from improving the performance of diesel engines used in land-based equipment, a variable valve-train mechanism was designed based on fully adjustable electro-hydraulic control, taking cam drive and solenoid valve for the oil pressure changes to realize fast and effective adjustment of valve train characteristic parameters. Firstly, a comprehensive scheme was proposed, including a variety of operating modes: full lift mode, intake early closing mode, intake late opening mode, multiple intake mode and closing mode. Secondly, mathematical models were built to simulate some key parameters, selecting diameter of hydraulic piston and diameter of connecting oil duct respectively as 21mm and 10mm. Finally, a test bench was built, carrying out multi-angle and multi-speed tests to verify the feasibility of the variable valve-train. The results show that the faster the crankshaft speed, the later the valve closes in intake early closing and multiple intake modes, and the crankshaft speed there is less influence on the valve in intake late opening mode.
