Abstract
Taking a pure electric bus as the research object, with the purpose of increasing the driving range of the vehicle, a fuel cell extended range hybrid system structure was proposed. Firstly, the matching calculations and model selection of various components made the power train were performed based on performance indicators. And then, a switching/power following energy management strategy was proposed. Finally, based on Cruise and Simulink software tools, a whole vehicle power train model, fuel cell and energy management strategy models were built and jointly simulated. The results show that, comparing with the switching and energy following control strategies, the switching and energy following control strategies proposed in this paper can make the vehicle economy be improved by 62% and 31% respectively, and the driving range be increased by 41% and 18% respectively.
