Abstract

The effect of heat treatment on hardness and conductivity of 6061 aluminum alloy was studied. The results show that in the process of solution treatment, with the increase of solution time, the hardness of the alloy first decreases then increases and last decreases gradually, and the hardness increases gradually with the increase of solution temperature. In the process of aging treatment, with the increase of aging time, the hardness of the alloy increases first and then decreases, and the conductivity of the alloy increases gradually and tends to be stable. The best heat treatment system for the 6061 aluminum alloy is solution at 540℃ for 4 h and then aging at 173℃ for 11 h, and the hardness of the alloy is 119.74 HV6, the conductivity is 56 %•IACS. The most important parameters affecting the conductivity of the alloy are the solution temperature and aging time, and the aging time is the most important parameter affecting the hardness of the alloy.
