Abstract

The interaction of moving submerged target and fluid will generate specific wave patterns, such as the Kelvin wave and the Bernoulli dome, which provides possibility for the airborne and spaceborne radar to get the parameters including location and velocity of the target using photoelectric detection. It has become an important research direction. In order to study the characteristics of the wave pattern, a mathematic model was established by using the 3 -D incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, RNG k-εturbulence model and the volume-of-fluid (VOF) method. The simulation result of the wave patterns of the submerged target at different depths and velocities reveals the relationship between the parameters and the wave pattern. The result obtained is significant for the simulation and detection technology of real submarines.
