Abstract
To address public health needs in using urban greenways and tackle issues such as“over-design,resource underutilization ,and poor user experience,”this study adopted a methodology integrating literature review and expert assessment to identify potential evaluation indicators. An empirical study was conducted focusing on the Chengdu Tianfu Greenway. Based on the results analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM),a restorative evaluation system applicable for planners and designers was constructed. This system comprises six dimensions-Natural Landscape,Facility Configuration,Recreational Experience,Spatial Structure,Environmental Perception, and Cultural Perception-and includes 39 specific evaluation indicators. The research indicates that the restorative effects of urban greenways are the result of the comprehensive interplay of multidimensional perceptions. It identifies unique indicators pertinent to evaluating restorative effects in urban greenways, such as connectivity of landscape nodes, variation and shading degree of trail systems, and the adequacy and maintenance status of facilities. Furthermore, the study quantitatively analyzes the extent of influence these evaluation indicators have on restorative effects, thereby elucidating the intrinsic influence mechanism through which the environmental quality of urban greenways impacts restorative effects.
