Abstract

In this paper, we make a survey on current research for bird sound recognition in China, Particularly we summarise the relevant studies in Chinese literature on feature extraction and classification applied to bird sound recognition. We found that, the related Chinese publications in this area are extremely lacking. Moreover, the current technologies are mainly originated from classic machine learning methods. Additionally, open access and standard bird sound databases are still on the way to be built in China. We claim in this paper that, open access and standard bird sound database should be established soon. Besides, advanced deep learning techniques should be investigated more into this field.
