Abstract
Phase-derived velocity measurement (PDVM) can obtain phase level measurement accuracy with high data rate. The PDVM has great application prospects in the field of micro-motion measurement and target recognition. Aiming at space target with high speed motion, the high speed PDVM method based on wideband stepped frequency radar is proposed. Firstly, the stepped frequency signal model is deduced with considering the intra-pulse Doppler modulation. Then, the impact of high speed on high resolution range profile and phase-derived velocity measurement is discussed. After that, the PDVM technique for high speed target is carried out. Finally, the validity of the proposed method and its applicability under low SNR are verified by simulation.
