Abstract

As a pillar industry of China's energy-intensive heavy industry, the iron and steel industry is an important front to achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutralizing goals. The low carbon transition process is helpful for the iron and steel industry to achieve the goals of energy conservation and emission reduction. However, the adjustment of the techniques makes the integrated energy system (IES) structure of the industry park more complex, forcing the operation scheduling to be faced with great challenges. Based on the traditional IES structure of the high-carbon steel enterprises with long processes, a low-carbon IES architecture and model of the iron and steel enterprises is established considering the two kinds of low-carbon transformation countermeasures currently feasible, i.e., the auxiliary hydrogen reduced iron process in the blast furnace and the short-processed steelmaking with the electric arc furnace. On this basis, with the introduction of the dynamic carbon emission factor of the purchased power and carbon cap and trade policy, the economic dispatching of the low-carbon IES is proposed combining with the multi-energy coupling and the flexible process optimization. Numerical simulation verifies the carbon reduction potential of the low-carbon IES of the iron and steel enterprises with the introduction of these two transformation processes. The operation of the park under the large-scale new energy accessing to the power grid has been made a prospective analysis, which provides a reference for the carbon reduction process upgrade of the iron and steel enterprises and the low-carbon scheduling of the integrated energy systems.
