Abstract
Recently, heat treatable aluminum lithium alloys have attracted much attention as aerospace structural materials due to their low density, high strength and good stiffness. However, the difficulty of its production and preparation technology, low yield, and high cost make its industrial large-volume production process requirements higher than traditional aluminum alloys, requiring a large amount of technical accumulation. From the world-wide perspective, the number and quality of patents applied for heat treatable aluminum lithium alloys demonstrate a country’ s manufacturing level. Therefore, this article reviews the development of aluminum lithium alloys patent technology, compares the differences between patents in China and those in European and American countries, and analyzes their respective development characteristics. It has been found that China has led the world in patent applications in the field of aluminum lithium alloys in the past 10 years, but there is still room for further improvement in prototype alloy composition, patent transfer and other aspects.
