Abstract
A double-end fixed beam piezoelectric energy harvester based on the rectangular beam or trapezoidal beam structure is designed.Compared with the conventional cantilever-beam piezoelectric energy harvester, the double-end fixed beam piezoelectric energy harvester has higher piezoelectric material utilization, more homogeneous strain distribution and higher output power. The theoretical model for these two kinds of structures is established and analyzed; the result shows that the strain distribution of the double-end fixed trapezoidal beam is more uniform than that of the double-end fixed rectangular beam. In addition, the contrast test is designed for these two kinds of structures and the output voltage and output power are measured. The output performance of these two kinds of structures can be improved by series. Compared with the double-end fixed rectangular beam, the first-order natural frequency of the double-end fixed trapezoidal beam is significantly lower and the series output voltage is 22.9% higher than that of the rectangular beam and the output power is increased by 34.7%.
