Abstract

A series of nickel mono(alkene) complexes, [LNi(alkene)], which consist of nickel(0) and neutral α-diimine ligand L (L = [(2,6-iPr₂C₆H₃)NC(Me)]₂), have been synthesized. The bonding and structures of the complexes were studied by X-ray diffraction, spectroscopic methods, and DFT computations.
