Chen Menglu has been selected as a National Young Talent Program, Beijing Science and Technology Rising Star, China Association for Science and Technology "Young Talent Promotion Project", and won the IAAM Scientist Medal (2022) of the International Association for Advanced Materials and the Yodh Prize (2019) of the University of Chicago. He has been engaged in the research of new infrared photoelectric detection technology and physical properties of low-dimensional materials for a long time, and presided over a number of projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation, the key project of foundation strengthening, the National Laboratory Open Fund, the National Research Center open Fund, and the Beijing Science and Technology Commission. International breakthroughs have been achieved in operating infrared quantum dot photodetectors at room temperature, in-band transition narrow band infrared quantum dot detectors, and long and very long wave quantum dot infrared detectors. He has published more than 30 papers in SCI journals as the first or corresponding author, including Nature Materials, Light: Science & Applications (multiple papers), ACS Nano (multiple papers), etc. He was selected as a member of the International Advanced Materials Association and a special editor of Materials Journal. Many students have won national scholarships and other honors.
