Engaged in laser micro-nano manufacturing research for an extended period. Proposed the improved two-temperature model and the plasma quantum model, resolving two long-standing theoretical challenges that had constrained femtosecond laser manufacturing. Proposed novel methods of laser manufacturing based on Electrons Dynamics Control (EDC) by shaping fs laser pulses. Pioneered in realizing the active control of electron dynamics in laser manufacturing and its multi-scale observation system, unlocking extensive application prospects in EDC manufacturing. Invented new technologies such as femtosecond laser EDC for drilling, -cutting, -mass balancing, -engraving. Led the developments of laser cutting equipment, conquered manufacturing difficulties like ultra-high-quality micro-hole drilling with a high aspect ratio in hard-to-process materials, ultra-high-precision leveling, and three-dimensional micro-engraving, laying a pivotal foundation for 43 National Major Projects/Equipment.

Academic Achievements
As of January 2025, published 410 SCI papers, including 99 papers with an impact factor over 10 and an H-index of 75. The total citations of all papers reached 20,526 times. Granted 133 invention patents, among which 118 were as the first inventor, and 4 were US patents. The research results have served 43 national major scientific and technological projects/equipments. Delivered 86 keynote/plenary/invited speeches at mainstream international conferences, and served as the chair, session chair, or organizing committee member of international conferences for 22 times. The doctoral students supervised by Prof. Jiang have won the Hiwin Doctoral Dissertation Award 7 times: Excellence Award (2014), Bronze Awards (2015, 2023), Silver Award (2016), Merit Awards (2017, 2021, 2022).

As the Chief Scientist/Project Leader, took charge of the Basic Science Center Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 973 Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology (achieved excellent results in the final acceptance, ranking first in the manufacturing and engineering fields), the Integrated Project of the Major Research Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (both the mid-term review and final acceptance were rated excellent, and was selected as one of the three highlights of the whole plan), the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (rated as the only "Outstanding" in the engineering field in the final acceptance), topics of the National Major Special Project, the Major Cultivation Project of the Ministry of Education, 863 project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, etc.
