The Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, was established in May 2015 as an academic entity dedicated to advanced structure technology research. The institute aims to integrate the national medium- and long-term science and technology development strategy, focus on the forefront of basic scientific problems and major engineering technology problems of advanced structures for modern national defense and industrial high-end equipment, establish new design theories, concepts, processes, experimental methods, and characterization methods for advanced structure technology, solve key problems in the field of national defense and industrial equipment, and serve the modernization of China's national defense and industrial equipment.
