N2 - Three copper(I/II) complexes [Cu2(HL1)2Cl]n (1), [Cu(H2L2)Cl]n (2), and [Cu2(H2L3)Cl2]n (3) were synthesized by the reaction of CuCl2 · 2H2O with three isomers of 4,6-dipyridyl-2-aminopyrimidine: H2L1, H2L2, and H2L3 under hydrothermal conditions. Although in compounds 1-3, the three ligands all exhibit bridging coordination modes, the structures of the resultant 1D polymers are very different. This result indicates that the structural motif of compounds 1-3 could be directed by the ligand isomers.
