N2 - Resource Information Service (RIS) is vital in the Grid. With the grid applied in military oriented simulation widely, traditional grid RIS can not meet the requirements for military oriented simulation, which mainly aim to server the model resource. After analyzing the requirement of model resource in military oriented simulation, a Model Resource Information Service (M-RIS) was created by adding two-levels mapping accessing mechanism and distribution hierarchical architecture to the Clobus MDS4 under careful consideration for its performance and extensibility. Using weapon model resource as the target, it has been proved to be a powerful tool for distributed military oriented simulation applications.
