Abstract

A novel multiple antenna DAB/DMB scheme based on differential unitary space-frequency modulation (DUSFM) is proposed in this paper, in which the receiver can demodulate without channel status information in a maximum-likelihood method. We proved theoretically that in case an ideal interleaving, the DUSFM-DAB system can obtain full space-time-frequency diversity, up to the product of the convolutional code's free distance and the transmitter antenna amount. In Monte Carlo simulation, with a time-frequency selective fading 3×1 MIMO channel, to achieve a 0.0001 bit-error-rate, the proposed scheme has a 6-7dB SNR benefit compared with CDD-DAB (Cyclic Delay Diversity DAB).
