Abstract

In order to study the effect of different joints means on missile separation, two separation methods (one with sleeve joint and the other with explosive bolt docking joint) were analyzed. The characteristics of the separating motions of the two methods were analyzed, and the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the trajectory were studied. Based on the above results, two corresponding separation dynamic models were formulated. Next ballistic simulations of the separation processes were conducted. Simulations show that the separation processes based on these two dynamic models were successful.
