N2 - For product design, evaluation of product competitiveness is a key issue. To tackle this problem, an evaluation method of product competitiveness based on technology analysis is proposed. The product competitiveness means the relative competitive advantage over other products in the market. Competitive products can occupy a larger market share and get more profits. In this method, the product competitiveness is calculated based on analysis results of technology maturity and development trend. Because mature technology ensure the realization of product functions and low technical risk, technology maturity is evaluated to ensure the feasibility of the technology. Besides, because technology with rising development trend means that there will be more scholars to study it, technology development trend is evaluated to reflect the degree of concern of the product. Finally, unicycle balanced car is used as an example to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of evaluation method of product competitiveness.
